Corner Castings

Connecting containers together is the key to why shipping containers have become the only way to transport cargo around the world, the key element to this is the corner casting. A corner casting is a solid piece of steel with holes in it that is welded into the corners of all shipping containers, it allows the container to be structurally connected to anything else including other containers. The main means of connection is through the use of a twist lock designed to go into one of the holes of a corner casting then rotate to lock into place.
